Chick cake pops

With Easter around the corner, I couldn’t wait to try my hand at some cake pops…

Super cute, right?! They would make a great addition to any Easter basket!

The neat thing about cake pops is that they can be shipped.

A piece of heaven

A friend asked me to make a cake for her friend… I had the freedom to do whatever I wanted! So… I came up with this…

This cake was a 10 inch super moist chocolate cake filled and frosted with my ever-so-smooth buttercream icing, smothered in ganache, and garnished with chocolate covered strawberries. Are you drooling yet?!   I sure am!  🙂

The following week this cake was requested again… and then the week after…. perhaps this cake needs its own special name… hmmm… any suggestions?

I volunteered to teach a group of teenage girls at the high school where I work a skill that they could be proud of. Initially I thought that they would think it was juvenile, but apparently Sesame Street is in?! Anyways, it was a blast showing them how to create these cookie monster cupcakes!

I’ve been dabbling with cake pops for a little while… I think they are so cute! When a coworker asked if I could make some cake pops for her daughter’s school function to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, I couldn’t pass it up!  I have such a blast with these things! I decided to go with a “cupcake” cake pop.. and here’s how it turned out:

They aren’t perfect but the kids enjoyed this special treat!

Golf

This cake was made a golf enthusiast who was celebrating his 33rd birthday. It’s a 9-inch double layer super  moist chocolate cake covered in fondant and accented with “grass.”  The cake is topped off with 33 random edible golf balls.

And because I’m having so much fun sculpting….

Care Bear

This cake brought back memories from my childhood…. the 80’s had the best cartoons!!)

This cake is a 6-inch double layer supermoist chocolate cake.  The bears and decorations were handmade out of fondant. The birthday girl didn’t want to cut the cake because she didn’t want to break the “care bear home”. Such a cutie!!

Lego

I made this lego cake for a friend as her son loves to build with them! It is an 8-inch double layer super moist chocolate cake filled and topped with buttercream icing. Legos are handmade fondant pieces.

White Tiger

A friend requested a white tiger cake… my first thought went something like this: “how in the world am I going to do that?” My second thought was: “uhhhhhhhhhh…..”  My third thought: “This is going to be so much fun! I love a challenge (within reason)!”

Not too shabby, eh?

Unicorn

A unicorn birthday cake! (Unicorn is a toy)
